About The Instructor
Joshua Bowen is a Member in the Warren Averett's Audit Division and serves on the Firm's Audit Best Practice Leader Committee, and is part of the Firm's Financial Services and Public Sector Industry Groups. He began his public accounting career in 2005 and has provided auditing, attestation and consulting services to a variety of industries; however, he has focused heavily on providing external and internal audits and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance consulting to financial institutions. He performs multiple presentations and trainings throughout the southeast on a variety of topics ranging from current expected credit losses (CECL) to enterprise risk management and internal auditing. He also presents the annual Community Banking Update for the Alabama Society of CPAs. Additionally, he leads the Firm's Audit Innovation Lab which is made up of young professionals, selected by Firm leaders, to engage them in a "think-tank" environment to pursue ideas and solutions that are innovative, meaningful, practical, actionable, creative and transformative. In 2019, Joshua was honored to be selected as the Young Alumnus of the Year by Troy University's School of Accountancy.
