However, reporting companies may continue to voluntarily submit beneficial ownership information reports.

Advocacy Alert: Disaster relief bill passes Senate, heads to President Biden's desk

On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act. The legislation would allow Americans who were subjected to damages from hurricanes and other federally declared disasters to claim such losses without itemizing such deductions. Moreover, such losses would not have to exceed 10% of a claimant’s adjusted gross income to qualify.
News: FICPA co-signs AICPA letter calling for BOI reporting delay to 2026

In light of the preliminary injunction against the Corporate Transparency Act, the AICPA, FICPA and 52 other state CPA societies on Wednesday sent a letter to the U.S. Treasury and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network asking for a one-year delay in the implementation of beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting.
Advocacy Alert: Corporate Transparency Act blocked nationwide by Texas court

A federal judge in the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday issued a nationwide injunction on the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act. The ruling comes less than one month before the Jan. 1, 2025, deadline for companies formed prior to 2024 to report their beneficial ownership information (BOI) to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
