Save the Date
- November 10th - Kim Dixon and a guest from Pacific Life will be speaking on the ins and outs of Social Security, how it is calculated and the different claiming strategies
- December - no meeting
For our October meeting we welcome R. Kevin Cross, EA, MST, CPA. He will be presenting "To Catch A Thief - a Game of Fraud".
R. Kevin Cross, EA, MST, CPA, will share his insights, wisdom and "out of the box" lessons on fraud to deter and detect misappropriations of assets. He is the only fraud sleuth who turns the audience into suspects with the "embezzlement game". "To Catch a Thief - A Game of Fraud" takes participants through an actual crime. $300,000 is missing and one of you is the culprit! In this fast paced session you will use Kevin Cross's sleuthing techniques to solve an actual fraud case. Participants will learn the difference between negligence and fraud and will discover how to deter and to detect fraud in its various forms.
The FICPA will also be presenting the Joint FICPA Educational Foundation Endowed Scholarships and Chapter Scholarships to deserving students from FAMU, Flagler and FSU. We hope you will attend the meeting and welcome the scholarship recipients as future members of our profession and our Chapter.
We look forward to seeing you at our October meeting!
