Jason Harrell, Chief External Affairs Officer, Florida Institute of CPAs

Jason Harrell

Jason Harrell is the FICPA Chief External Affairs Officer responsible for leading all aspects of the Institute’s public policy, advocacy, governmental affairs and regulatory affairs. He serves as the liaison to the DBPR and Board of Accountancy and is responsible for all advocacy-related external communications and campaigns to increase the value of the CPA license. Jason brings numerous years of experience to this role, previously serving as director of government relations for Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers Association and budget and communications director for the Clerks of Court Operations Corporation, serving in key roles under two Speakers in the Florida House, and serving in the Executive Office of the Governor in the Office of Policy and Budget and Chief Inspector General’s Office.

Yvonne Clayborne

Yvonne Clayborne is a partner in audit and attest practice of the Melbourne, Florida office of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC. Yvonne has more than 20 years of experience in public practice and 4 years in private industry, serving clients in a variety of  industries including local governments, not-for-profit organizations, construction, manufacturing and CIRAs, providing external audit services as well as internal audit (risk management) consulting.  Yvonne has been a presenter on a variety of topics to the FICPA, the Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA), the Florida School Finance Officers Association (FSFOA) and the Florida Association of School Business Officials (FASBO). 

Yvonne is an active member of the FICPA, serving as the chair of the State & Local Government Committee, the chair of the Legislative Review subcommittee, and serving on the Technical Resources and the State & Local Government Accounting & Auditing Conference Planning subcommittees.  She is also a member of the FGFOA, the AICPA, the Space Coast Chapter of the FGFOA and the Volusia-Flagler Chapter of the FGFOA.  

Raised in Brevard County, Yvonne currently holds the position of Past-Chair of the Board for the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and has served as a member of the Florida Institute of Technology College of Business Advisory Board.

A graduate of Florida State University, Yvonne is licensed in the State of Florida as a Certified Public Accountant and a Community Association Manager.
