Overview

The Summer Vacation Cluster (SVC) is designed around your interests, schedule, and staycation. Stay up to date while enjoying three days at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – a lavish Victorian-style marvel.

The FICPA doesn’t hold back when hand-selecting speakers for its conferences, and the Summer Vacation Cluster (SVC) roster is as impressive as any.

Earn up to 20 hours of CPE by mixing and matching your choice of Thursday and Friday morning and afternoon sessions on topics such as cybersecurity in the age of AI, fraud, tax and financial planning, asset protection and tax updates. Fulfill your 4 ethics CPE with a board-approved Florida Ethics session on Saturday morning.

In between learning and earning CPE you can enjoy the resort’s lagoon-side amenities and the famous fun to be had at the nearby theme parks. Stroll less than a mile, monorail or water taxi to Magic Kingdom park or bus to the nearby EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and more.

The SVC is an event that FICPA members and their families look forward to – and because of the destination, it is guaranteed to reach capacity – so register soon!

Breakout Session

- AI Opportunities, FTC Regs, Incident Response – Oh My!

AI is moving fast.  Regulators are enforcing.  Cyber insurance carriers are denying claims.  CPA firms are caught in the middle.

This 4-hour CPE session is built specifically for small and mid-sized CPA firms that want clarity, not complexity.  Led by Scott Hagizadegan, a nationally recognized CPA subject matter expert in cybersecurity, alongside Rebecca Santos and industry partners, this session goes beyond generic cybersecurity presentations. It focuses on what actually impacts your firm.

You will learn:

  • How to build a practical, defensible Incident Response plan.
  • How to use AI responsibly without increasing regulatory or security risk.
  • What the FTC Safeguards Rule really requires and where your firm is falling short.
  • The controls insurance carriers expect before approving or paying claims.
  • Immediate action steps you can implement back at your firm.

This is not a technical deep dive.  It is a strategic roadmap tailored to CPA leaders who want to protect their clients, strengthen compliance, and make confident decisions in a rapidly changing environment.  This session is not just informative.  It is essential.
