The International Tax Conference Boot Camp Livestream is a one-day program that helps you master need-to-know skills and trends in the international tax realm. It provides you with a foundational understanding of international inbound and outbound taxation and tax forms.
The International Tax Conference Boot Camp Livestream prepares you for the Jan. 22-23 International Tax Conference, a can’t-miss CPE event for global CPAs.
If you advise clients across borders, the ITC, presented in partnership with the Florida Bar Tax Section, will cover everything you need to know to navigate multiple jurisdictions and comply with international laws.

IRS Continued Education Credit can be awarded for participation in this conference. CE credit is reported to the IRS on the registrants behalf. You must select you wish to earn IRS CE from the sessions menu during the registration process and provide the FICPA with your PTIN within 10 days of the conclusion of the conference for the FICPA to report your CE credits. Registrants can provide their PTIN by emailing cpe@ficpa.org or completing the post event survey.

Carlos Somoza, Principal, Kaufman, Rossin & Co, PACarlos Somoza
Carlos A. Somoza leads Kaufman Rossin's international tax services practice. He has more than 25 years of experience in federal income, gift and estate taxation. He has served clients in the private and public industries, advising them in the areas of international taxation, taxable acquisitions and tax-free reorganizations, IRS litigation and related tax compliance.
Carlos provides international inbound and outbound planning for U.S. and foreign multinational corporations, including foreign tax credit planning and structuring utilizing the Entity Classification tax provisions. He provides estate planning and pre-immigration planning for foreign, high-net worth individuals. He also assists clients with the IRS Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program, as well as compliance with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act.
Carlos is involved with the Florida International University, serving as the Chair of the FIU Honors College Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Christopher Columbus Alumni Association.
In addition, he has been involved with the Miami-Dade Legal Aid "Put Something Back" program, offering legal and tax services to indigent clients. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Leader Bios
Shawn Wolf, Partner / Attorney, Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod
Shawn Wolf is a partner at Bilzin Sumberg and is the is the Practice Group Leader of Bilzin Sumberg’s Tax & Private Wealth Services group. Shawn counsels foreign and domestic high net worth individuals, families and closely-held companies wherever they need international and domestic tax, estate planning, and pre-immigration and expatriation planning and strategies. Shawn has also assisted hundreds of clients in coming into compliance with U.S. tax filing requirements, particularly international clients with complex situations involving multiple jurisdictions, in addition to counseling them on the minimization of applicable penalties. Finally, Shawn also assists clients in forming and operating domestic and offshore businesses, including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.
Shawn is a frequent lecturer in the community and author of various articles focusing on international tax planning issues. He has served as an adjunct professor at Florida International University’s Masters of Accounting Program, has been a guest lecturer at the University of Miami School of Law Tax LLM program, and is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law Tax LLM program.
An active member of the Florida Bar Tax Section, he has served as the Chair of the Tax Section / FICPA International Tax Conference. He is now a Past Chair of the Tax Section (Chair 2023-2024).
Shawn received his LL.M. in tax (with International Tax Certificate) from the University of Miami, and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He also earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Miami, double majoring in Business Law and International Finance & Marketing. He is Board Certified in Tax Law, and a Fellow in ACTEC and ACTC.
