The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) celebrated another milestone year for its annual CPA Day of Service in 2026, with a record 230 volunteers signed up to support communities across Florida through hands-on service projects. The initiative is spearheaded by the Young CPA Committee, which helps drive and coordinate engagement across the state.
CPA Day of Service continues to gain momentum as accounting professionals across Florida unite to make a meaningful impact beyond the workplace. This year marked the organization’s largest volunteer turnout yet, reflecting the profession’s growing commitment to community engagement and service.
Volunteer participation has more than doubled since 2023[LK1] [LK2] , increasing by more than 120 volunteers over four years. Across that time, CPA Day of Service has engaged a total of 642 volunteers across 52 community service projects statewide.
Projects this year supported a wide range of organizations and causes, with volunteers contributing their time and talents to initiatives focused on food insecurity, education, environmental cleanup, youth programs and nonprofit support.
“CPA Day of Service continues to showcase the incredible generosity and leadership of Florida’s accounting profession,” said FICPA CFO and FICPA Scholarship Foundation Acting Director Kristin High. “Each year, more members step forward to give back, strengthening both their local communities and the spirit of service that defines our profession.”
The continued growth of the initiative highlights the FICPA’s dedication to fostering a culture of volunteerism among accounting professionals while creating lasting community impact throughout Florida.
From packing meals and organizing donations to beautifying community spaces and supporting local nonprofits, volunteers demonstrated the profession’s shared commitment to service and collaboration.
As participation continues to grow year over year, CPA Day of Service has become a signature statewide initiative for the FICPA and its members. Organizers anticipate even greater involvement in the years ahead as more firms, companies and individual professionals join the effort.
