Stand up for the CPA Profession

The FICPA is excited to announce that our annual CPA Day at the Capitol is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2027! 

Last year, we set a record for the largest advocacy event in our history, as more than 150 FICPA representatives took meetings or delivered legislative materials to every single member of the Florida House and Senate, advancing our legislative priorities and protecting the value of the CPA license. 

Thanks in part to our work during CPA Day at the Capitol, the FICPA prevented the proposed elimination of the Florida Board of Accountancy for the second year in a row.   

No one tells the story of the CPA profession better than you. That's why the Governmental Affairs Team once again invites you to Tallahassee ahead of the 2027 Legislative Session to help us advocate for our FICPA priority legislation. 

This year, your presence will be especially important. Florida will soon welcome a new Governor, Senate President and Speaker of the House – and for the first time in more than a decade, no CPA will serve in the Florida Legislature. 

Whether it’s your first CPA Day or you’ve attended for years, we'll make sure you'll have the support and resources you need to confidently advocate for the profession or simply listen and learn alongside your group.  

Once at the Capitol, participants will be grouped with key FICPA leadership or staff to hold meetings with legislators from their region, sharing firsthand the value and contributions of CPAs.

Event Information

• Please note the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
• As we did last year, the FICPA will be chartering bus transportation to and from Tallahassee from select locations around the state on Jan. 12 and 13. As part of your registration, please check the box to let us know if you would be interested in joining fellow attendees on one of the chartered buses.
• Should you wish to fly in and out for a day trip on Wednesday, please make every effort to arrive early as lobbying appointments begin between 9-10 a.m. Training and corresponding talking points will be provided during the 8 a.m. breakfast. 

•  For Day at the Capitol, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, as the event will involve touring the entire Capitol Building, which can be physically demanding.
