Berkowitz Pollack Brant

Paul Combes

Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors + CPAs announced that Paul Combes, CPA, CFP, recently joined the firm as an associate director in the Tax Services practice. Combes will be based in the firm’s West Palm Beach office.

He brings 20 years of experience providing tax, accounting and business consulting services to domestic and multi-national businesses. He works with financial and executive-level management teams to develop strategies to help with their effective tax rate, income tax provisions, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and integration of financial policies and controls into business operations.

Chief executive officer Joseph L. Saka commented, “Our West Palm Beach office continues to grow and evolve. Paul brings a unique set of skills that will be very valuable to our clients.”


Berman Hopkins

Chris McDirmit, Agnes Gregory

Berman Hopkins & Associates is proud to announce that Chris McDirmit has been made managing partner. He is the fourth managing partner in the firm’s 63-year history. In this role, he will lead the largest locally owned CPA firm in Central Florida, with offices in Melbourne, Orlando and Titusville. An Orlando native, Chris brings 20 years of public accounting experience to this leadership position.

Berman Hopkins is also pleased to announce that Agnes Gregory has joined the Orlando office as partner in the Tax Department. Agnes brings over 20 years public accounting experience, consulting with clients on M&A tax planning issues, estate planning, international tax, and multi-state and business compliance issues.


CBIZ

David Read

CBIZ has hired David Read as senior tax manager at the Tampa Bay office.

Read has more than 22 years of experience, providing federal and state income tax planning and compliance services. He also assists C-suite and tax department heads with reporting for income tax in accordance with ASC 740. Read serves public and private, domestic and multi-national companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, distribution, banking, financial services and real estate. Before joining CBIZ, he was a tax senior manager at KPMG.   

Read is a CPA and holds his Masters of Science in Taxation and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Memphis.  


Grau and Associates

David Caplivski

Grau & Associates has promoted David Caplivski, CPA, to partner. Caplivski will be responsible for supervising a wide range of accounts and teams.

Caplivski has been with Grau & Associates since 2010. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2002, Caplivski has since earned his master’s degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. He is an active member of the AICPA, FICPA, GFOA, and FASD.

“David provides first-rate service to our clients,” said Antonio Grau, founding partner and CEO of Grau & Associates. “David’s a hugely valued member of our team, and we’re excited to see him continue to grow his leadership at the firm.”
