CPA Day of Service: Operation BBQ in Port Charlotte, Oct. 28-30

The FICPA’s Young CPA Committee is organizing an impromptu CPA Day of Service to assist with Hurricane Ian recovery efforts.

We’re partnering with Volunteer Florida and Operation BBQ to serve hot meals in Port Charlotte from Oct. 28-30.

FICPA staff will be on hand and all our members are invited to participate at a date and time of their choosing. We'll be accepting up to 50 volunteers per shift, per day, with shifts running from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 12 p.m. and to 8 p.m.

BBQ will be served to those “impacted by Hurricane Ian, First Responders and Emergency Personnel, Utility Crews, other civic and volunteer organizations, and anyone who needs a hot meal.” Operation BBQ anticipates distributing as many as “60,000 meals per day” and is looking for volunteers to assist with “all areas of food service.”

Bring your colleagues, friends and family and play a small but important role in providing much-needed relief.

We thank you in advance for your service and look forward to seeing you later this month in Southwest Florida.
