After a hurricane’s winds have died down and the waters have receded, many entities focus on immediate recovery.  Come period-end, various hurricane  accounting and attest issues arise, forcing CPAs in industry and in practice to consider new issues, such as the GAAP accounting for insurance, or reassess traditional issues such as inventory valuation, PPE impairment, and going concern.
