State and Local Government Accounting Conference (SLGAC-18)


CPAs in-state and local governments face a unique and rapidly-changing set of challenges. FICPA’s State & Local Government Accounting Conference provides training (in-person or via online simulcast) to help them navigate the ethical and practical demands of public services. Attendees will also have the chance to network with other CPAs and professionals in the field.

CPE Credit:

This conference qualifies for 14 Accounting & Auditing (AA), 2 Technical Business (TB)  hours of CPE credit and is subject to change. CPE credit is subject to approval by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

This conference may count for Yellow Book credit; however, attendees must make their own application.

This session will give an overview of the GASB pronouncements that become effective in the coming fiscal years. The session will also explain some of the projects on GASB’s current technical agenda and research agenda.

This session will cover all of the key points of the new GASB OPEB Statements (No. 74 and 75) which are becoming effective this year and next. There are major changes in these two new standards for both employers and plans that impact accounting methods and financial reporting. We will explore the accounting and financial reporting for these new requirements…..if you work in the governmental accounting industry, you will need to know this.
