About The Instructor

Raphael has over 10 years of facilitating intercultural and diversity education conversations. For the last 5 years, he has developed inclusive recruitment strategies and engaging programs that connect diverse university talent with career opportunities.

While earning a B.A. in Urban Studies & Public Policy at Dillard University (HBCU), he gained skills through student leadership and global citizenship praxis that informed his passion for coaching and collaborating with intercultural groups. He defined his personable facilitation style while serving as a Diversity Education Specialist at Syracuse University - where he also received a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration.

During his higher education tenure at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Columbia University, he designed, branded, and expanded social justice, intercultural, and critical dialogue initiatives.

Combining his experience managing diversity and equity training, student advisement, and talent recruitment, he spent 4 years leading a national diversity internship program at the T. Howard Foundation. He helped over 700 underrepresented college students secure corporate roles at companies like WarnerMedia, ViacomCBS, NBCUniversal, The New York Times, and Hearst. He currently leads Emerging Talent Engagement at Cisco Systems.

Raphael has a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion for Human Resources through Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. His commitment to making an impact through corporate and community engagement is shared through his service as an Advisory Board member - Consort Institute for Emerging Technologies at Clark Atlanta University, Board of Visitors - School of Education at Syracuse University, a Senior Fellow in the Melton Foundation, and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

A Baton Rouge, LA native, Raphael is based in Baltimore, MD. He can be seen exploring the city on electric scooters, looking for the best coffee, and trying to perfect iPhone photography.
