Mike is a CPA and a 1985 graduate of USF. He worked for KPMG for 8 years where his primary clients were governmental agencies and not-for-profit organizations. Mike left public accounting in 1993 and has been at Publix for 27 years. During that time, he has been responsible for the Company's internal and external financial reporting and preparing the Company's filings with the SEC. In 2001, Mike led the implementation of SAP for financial transactions and after successful conversion of the legacy financial systems to SAP in 2002 he assisted with the conversion of the HR and payroll systems in 2004. Mike also took a lead role in Publix's implementation of the Lease Accounting standard, focusing on SAP. Mike's current responsibilities include financial support of Real Estate and Facilities, and financial analysis for Corporate departments that support Publix' store operations. Mike is also a member of the Financial Internal Control Assessment Teams and the Disclosure Assessment Team.
