About The Instructor
Petar Besalev is the SVP of Cybersecurity and Privacy Services at A-LIGN. He is responsible for overseeing all security services that A-LIGN offers including PCI DSS, Penetration Testing, FISMA, FedRAMP, and privacy assessment services such as GDPR. Petar has provided IT security, audit, consulting and compliance services for Fortune 500 companies in multiple industries including manufacturing, financial, healthcare, government, and more.
Prior to joining A-LIGN, Petar was an IT Risk and Assurance Senior Manager with Ernst and Young (EY). His responsibilities included managing attestation and security engagements for a number of industry sectors. His areas of expertise included SOX audits, HITRUST, HIPAA, security reviews and privacy certifications. While well-versed in security audits, Petar was also responsible for managing attestation services such as SOC 1 and SOC 2.

His motivation to innovate stems from a desire to make audits as easy as possible for his clients. Petar also keeps up with the ever-changing methodologies of the audits he provides in order to keep his own processes as up to date as possible.
