President and Chief Executive OfficerMemorial Healthcare System
Aurelio has been a healthcare professional for over 40 years in the Tri-County market. Nine years ago he joined Memorial Hospital Miramar as Chief Executive Officer. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Memorial Healthcare System in 2012. Aurelio was recently appointed President and Chief Executive Officer for Memorial Healthcare System. Prior to joining Memorial Healthcare System, he spent eleven years in a variety of positions with Tenet Healthcare, including Chief Executive Officer at Hialeah Hospital and Florida Medical Center as well as Executive Director for Tenet Network Management. During the 1990's, Aurelio was Chief Executive Officer of Palm-Med Health Services specializing in physician ventures as well as actively participating in organizing physician hospital organizations.
Aurelio is active in numerous organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors of Catholic Health Services and the Florida Hospital Association, as well as past Chairman of the Board for the South Florida Hospital Healthcare Association. In addition, he was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America South Florida Council-Citizen of the Year Broward County Award as well as the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.
Aurelio was born in Havana, Cuba and has lived in South Florida for the past 55 years. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Masters of Health Services Administration from Florida International University. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He is a resident of Plantation, Florida where he lives with his wife. Aurelio and Patricia have four sons who reside in Florida.
