Mr. Rizzo has over 35 years of experience in virtually all aspects of pension, health and retiree medical plans for governmental entities. He and his team of actuaries and analysts in the Florida office serve over 100 governments for their GASB OPEB needs for funding and accounting.
Mr. Rizzo served on the GASB's Task Force to assist in their drafting and deliberation of what become GASB Statement Nos. 74 and 75. He also served on the GASB's Consultative Group to assist in their drafting of the new OPEB Implementation Guide.
For the actuarial profession, Mr. Rizzo served on the Subcommittee of the Actuarial Standards Board that wrote the current Actuarial Standard of Practice No. 6 which guides actuaries on how to do OPEB valuations. He currently chairs an American Academy of Actuaries' group drafting an Actuarial Practice Note on ASOP No. 6 for OPEBs.
He is also a frequent speaker for national, state and local organizations on Pension and OPEB topics.
