Shawn Williams is a 45+ year resident of Southwest Florida, a graduate of Purdue University, a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida, and Sole Member of Shawn M. Williams, CPA, LLC. Since 2002, he has owned and operated his CPA firm with the primary focus of helping clients "see through the numbers" to navigate through complex state tax issues and business regulations they encounter through starting or expanding their businesses as a full-service accounting, tax and consulting firm for small/medium-sized, multi-state businesses (<$IOOMM), their members and shareholders. Shawn's work history includes both public and industry accounting. He was previously employed by national, regional and local CPA firms, and served as the Chief Financial Officer of a 25-company Florida conglomerate before opening his own practice in 2002.
Shawn has a unique connection to the community through his professional service, volunteerism, and public service. He is the former Chairman of the FGCU Accounting and Tax Conference committee and is a long-serving member of the State Tax, Federal Tax, and Management of an Accounting Practice Committees of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Shawn is a regular speaker for FICPA continuing education courses on subjects of State Taxation and Management of an Accounting Practice.
He is a former appointee as public member of the Florida Bar's 20th Circuit Grievance committee; and, currently serving as a member of the Lee County Affordable Housing and Lee County School District's Finance Advisory Committees. He is also a member of the WGCU, his local NPR affiliate's, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory and Content Committee.
