About The Instructor
Allison is an audit director with the firm of Thomas Howell Ferguson in Tallahassee, Florida. She has been practicing as a public accountant for 10 years. After she graduated from Florida State University, she worked for the State of Florida’s Auditor General’s office. For most of her public accounting career, Allison has specialized in providing audit and consulting services to not-for-profit and government organizations. Allison was a member of the Inaugural AICPA Leadership Academy and has been involved in several committees within the FICPA, including the Young CPA Committee and the Committee on Nominations. She is the recipient of the 2014 FICPA Women to Watch Emerging Leader Award and was also awarded the Golden Ace Award in Finance for her community involvement from the Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals. She also is involved in various community activities and currently is the treasurer for Treehouse of Tallahassee, a nonprofit that provides facilities for children ages 2-12 that have been removed from their homes. In addition to her work with not-for-profits, she is also a member of the AICPA’s Government Audit Quality Center’s Executive Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys reading a good book, traveling with her husband, and chasing her two kids around.
