About The Instructor
Aarika Friend is a Senior Project Manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) leading the Joint Venture Formations and Software Costs projects. She has also been responsible for FASB projects on fair value measurement disclosures, implementing revenue from contracts with customers, simplifying the equity method of accounting, intangible assets, and distinguishing liabilities from equity. Aarika led the FASB's efforts during the 2021 Agenda Consultation. Prior to joining the FASB, Aarika was an audit Manager at Ernst & Young's Financial Services Office. Aarika earned her BSA in Accounting from University of Connecticut and MBA from State University of New York at New Paltz and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Connecticut.
