About The Instructor

Lauren Kocinski is a Supervisory Special Agent in the Fort Myers, Florida, post of duty. She also serves as the Public Information Officer for the Tampa Field Office where she liaises with stakeholders across multiple agencies and the media. She has performed outreach through presentations, media inquiries, and television appearances.

Lauren joined the Tampa Field Office as a Special Agent (SA) in 2016. She has worked a plethora of investigations to include microcap, investor fraud, international, Nationally Coordinated Investigations Unit, employment tax, and general fraud. Lauren has acquired experience in judicial and enforcement activity including testifying at grand jury, preparing for trial, working with foreign based attaches and diplomats, authoring and conducting several search warrants and Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties, directing undercover operations, leading search and arrest warrants, and conducting several proffers with Department of Justice attorneys. 

Before working for IRS-CI, Lauren spent seven years in the IRS Bank Secrecy Act civil division. This role required her, as the only IRS-BSA agent in Southwest Florida, to liaison with other agencies and coordinate with IRS-CI. She also worked as a senior auditor in the private sector for several years. She received an accounting degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.
