Why is DE& I important to me? It’s a question of fairness. I’ve missed opportunities because of my gender. I don’t want others to miss opportunities because of attributes that are outside of their control and unrelated to their ability to a job. It’s my way of trying to turn around and help the next person in line.

Why is DE& I important to me? I strive to listen to and learn from others that may be different than me and help them have the same equitable chances in life that I have. I want my children to grow up loving and respecting others just the same. Love God, Love Others.

Why is DE& I important to me? I believe each person has their own unique values that add growth to an organization. By developing and implementing programs that address the needs of those that are in disadvantages, we can assure no one is treated unfairly and everyone has the opportunities to grow to their full potentials.

Why is DE& I important to me? The focus must be on education starting at the beginning to provide the profession the best possible chance to achieve success. As natural teachers and with ongoing education requirements, CPAs are poised to understand, distill, and deliver the message when and where it needs to be

Why is DE& I important to me? I come from a minority that is underrepresented in accounting. Less than 3% of CPA's were African-American back in 2006 and I do not believe much has changed 15 years later. The equity part of DEI is a new and positive change because the tone at the top of organizations sets the tone.
