Applications for the Board of Directors, FICPA Council, Standing Committee and AICPA Council

Application Form for 2024-25 Appointments—DEADLINE:  August 31, 2023

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about our mission, possess strong leadership, skills, and bring a diverse range of expertise and backgrounds to contribute to our leadership. As a member of our governing bodies, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our organization, drive its growth, and foster meaningful change in the profession we serve. The open positions on the Board of Directors and Council, to be filled by the Nominations Committee, are as follows:

1. Chair-Elect: Serves 1-year term that begins on July 1, 2024 and then becomes Chair of FICPA for an additional 1-year term beginning on July 1, 2025.
2. Director (Board of Directors): Serves a 2-year term beginning on July 1, 2024.
3. At-Large Member (Council): Serves a 1 or 2-year term beginning on July 1, 2024.

In addition, the Nominating Committee will be accepting applications to fill the following three Standing Committees:

1. Audit Committee: Serves a 3-year term beginning on July 1, 2024.  *Note – Individuals must be a member of Council.

2. Investment Policy Committee: Serves a 3-year term beginning on July 1, 2024.

3. Committee on Nominations: Serves a 2-year term beginning on July 1, 2024.

 

Applying for Board of Directors:

• If you are a current Board of Directors member applying for re-appointment complete sections 1 and 2 only.
• If you are a current member of the Board of Directors applying for re-appointment and requesting consideration for the position of Chair complete sections 1 and 2 only and submit a letter indicating your interest to serve as Chair.
• If you are not a current member of the Board of Directors complete sections 1 and 3 and questions 5 through 8 and 10 through 14.
• NOTE: If selected for consideration, in-person interviews for Chair-Elect and the Board of Directors will be held at a later date in September TBD in Orlando, and at a date in November TBD, in Ft. Lauderdale.
  • Final deliberations for Board nominees are completed in November by the Nominations Committee.
  • The Council then votes by January 31 to accept the nominated slate presented by the Nominations Committee. 
  • The newly elected slate will begin services the following July 1.

 

Applying for FICPA Council Member-at-Large:

• If applying or re-applying for a Member-at-Large position complete sections 1 and 3 and questions 6 through 8 and 10 through 14.
• NOTE: Final deliberations for Council nominees are completed in November by the Nominations Committee.
  • The Council then votes by January 31 to accept the nominated slate presented by the Nominations Committee. 
  • The newly elected slate will begin services the following July 1.

Applying for Standing Committee or AICPA Council:

• If applying or re-applying for appointment to a Standing Committee or AICPA Council (must be a current member of FICPA Council for AICPA Council consideration) complete sections 1 ,3 and 4 and questions 9 through 14.
• Standing Committee Note: Final deliberations for Standing Committee appointments are generally completed in November. 
  • The newly appointed Standing Committee members will begin service July 1.

2. If you have problems submitting electronically, you may save the application to your computer and e-mail the application, resume, and photo as attachments to Sarah Wright at Sarah@ficpa.org.

Helpful Information:  

• A full description of each committee, including time commitment, duties and responsibilities, eligibility and term limits is located on our volunteer page.
• A history of your Committee, Board, Chapter and Section service to the FICPA will be pulled from the FICPA database and attached as part your application. This step is completed by the FICPA Staff Liaison.
• If you are applying for the first time or have not applied or served in the last two years, please include a personal resumé and photo of yourself as part of your application. Make sure your resumé includes other organizations’ boards you have served or are still serving, as well as your community service history.  If you are currently serving or have served or applied in the two three years you may update your resumé as needed.
