We actively follow the Florida Legislature and created this Advocacy Toolkit to assist our membership in effectively advocating on behalf of the accounting profession. We will continue to add resources to this toolkit as needed. If you would like to suggest advocacy resources for this toolkit, please contact your Governmental Affairs Team.
Legislative Visits

Legislative visits are a grassroots effort to encourage chapter and firm members to become more involved with FICPA's advocacy efforts. Legislative visits provide members with an opportunity to update their legislators regarding legislative and regulatory issues currently affecting the CPA profession in Florida and on the national level.
Key Person Contact

The FICPA Key Person Contact (KPC) Program is an essential grassroots supplement to our Government Affairs Team's efforts in Florida and Washington. KPCs are provided critical information to educate their local legislators on the issues affecting the profession, their practice and their clients.

The Journey Of A Bill

The lawmaking process in Florida can be an arduous process, however it ensures policies affecting our daily lives are thoroughly considered and vetted. Seeing a bill through its journey is exactly why grassroots advocates like you are vital. Keeping your legislators informed about policy issues important to you helps a bill maintain momentum in order to become law.
Who Represents You?

The Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives together are the Florida Legislature, a bicameral legislature. The Florida Legislature is one of three branches of government in Florida. The other two branches are the Executive and Judicial.
Find Your Elected Officials

Your contacts are critical to the FICPA's efforts to promote or oppose legislation in the interest of the CPA profession and the public it serves. Only through your efforts can we generate the necessary clout to pass legislation that will benefit the accounting profession in Florida,or block harmful legislation. FICPA makes finding your elected officials easy.
