We recommend calling the Board of Accountancy for all questions relating to your individual license and/or firm license.

  1. How can I transfer my CPA license from another state to Florida?
If you are licensed in another state, you can obtain a Florida license through “licensure by endorsement."

  2. How do I find out if a course is approved for CPE credit?
All FICPA CPE has been pre-approved by DBPR. For Non-FICPA CPE courses, please contact the DBPR at (352) 333-2505 to verify approval.

  3. How do I report my CPE hours to the DBPR?
DBPR only requires Florida CPAs to self-report and affirm that they have completed the required CPE hours. The FICPA CPE Tracker is available online to manage your hours and provide a record of courses attended should DBPR require it during an audit.

  4. If I was just newly licensed, when is my reporting period?
You will need to renew your license at the end of the year but your CPE will be due two years from the following June. CPE taken starting from when you are licensed will count towards your 80 hours.

  5. What is the breakdown of the 80 hours of CPE I need to renew my license?
You are required to earn four hours of Ethics, at least 20 hours of A&A, not more than 20 hours of Behavior with no limit to Technical Business (TB). An additional four hours of Ethics will count towards TB.
