John W. Johnson is a graduate of Florida State University with degrees in Political Science and Accounting. Prior to joining the staff of the FICPA in July of 2006, John worked at the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) where he served as the Executive Director for the Florida Board of Accountancy (BOA) from 2002-2006. While at DBPR from 1991-2002, he served for 12 years with the DBPR Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering where John began to move through the ranks of state government, starting as a Tax Auditor, Senior Tax Auditor, Tax Audit Supervisor, Audit Administrator, Chief of Operations, Chief of Audit, and finally as Deputy Director. Additionally, in 2002 John served as Interim Executive Director of the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. John is also responsible for oversight of governmental affairs programs, registered lobbyist; contact for Key Person Contact Program, Florida CPA/PAC, Legislative Chapter Visits, and other regulatory issues; staff liaison for State Legislative Policy Committee and Common Interest Realty Associations Section.


The Chapter Nominating Committee has nominated the following officers for the 2011-2012 year. Elections will be held at the monthly meeting.

According to FICPA Chapter Bylaws, Article VI; Section 5; Any ten Public Practice or Not in Public Practice members of this Chapter may submit supplemental nominations, provided that such nominations be filed with the Secretary at least twenty days prior to the date of the election of officers. Notice of such supplemental nominations shall be mailed by the Secretary to all Public Practice and Not in Public Practice members at least ten days prior to the election of officers.
