USF Accounting Conference
October 27-28, 2011

The FICPA University of South Florida Accounting Conference was held October 27-28, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown Convention Center. More than 150 Tampa area professionals and USF Alumni gathered along with USF Faculty and students. Members of Beta Alpha Psi assisted with check-in.

The conference theme: A New Normal: A Look into the Future offered an insightful look at the state of the Economic Market for 2011, Estate Planning for the Florida Accountant, Tax Implications of Health Care Reform, PCI Compliance and much more…

Dan Morgan, Vice-Present & Portfolio Manager with Synovus Trust opened the conference with an Economic Market outlook for 2011.  Former FASB Board member Edward W. Trott offered the group a GAAP and IASB update.  Friday morning Ryan Huston, explained Estate Planning for the Florida Accountant.  As a prelude to lunch banker Jack Barrett of First Citrus Bank and Brian Lamb of Fifth Third Bank presented and overview of the Regulatory Updates and the SBA Program.  Gary Jordan closed the conference with Fraud Detection and How to See It Coming.
