Giacomo Apadula

EXPERIENCE
Giacomo Apadula has extensive experience in the nonprofit and government contracting business sector on matters related to organizational evaluation, restructuring, governance, process improvement, cost accounting, and litigation/audit support in relation Federal regulatory requirements (e.g., 2 CFR 200; FAR; DFARS; AIDAR; HHSAR). Additionally, he leads teams in performing internal audits, field investigations, internal control design, and regulatory compliance assessments to prevent/identify fraud, waste, and abuse of funding on Federal awards.

Giacomo has worked with management teams to optimize cost allocation plans while ensuring compliance with applicable cost principles (e.g., FAR Part 31; 2 CFR 200 subpart E) and in establishing revenue projections/strategic plans through complex model development and data analytics. He also has extensive experience drafting company wide policies and procedures for the accounting, budgeting/forecasting, billing, pricing, procurement, and internal audit functions of multinational organizations.

Giacomo has provided consultations to management teams related to regulatory interpretations and in identifying opportunities to streamline existing processes while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements. In this capacity, he works with management teams to establish adequate internal controls and ensure synergies are implemented across the organization. He provides the results of his team’s assessments - and their associated recommendations - to key stakeholders (e.g., Board of Directors, CEOs, Audit Committees) and functional leads.

Giacomo also serves companies in the successful resolution of contract/grant audit issues stemming from Government audits (e.g., OIG; DCAA; DCMA) through the design and implementation of effective corrective action plans and associated cost impact analyses.

Giacomo has also led teams working with regulatory agencies and funding organizations - serving as client’s compliance and cost lead. In this role, Giacomo represents his clients in the communications and negotiations of program funding. He also provides trainings across the full spectrum of regulatory compliance and best practices to clients and industry groups across the nation.

Giacomo has previously consulted at Argy, Wiltse, & Robinson, P.C. Navigant Consulting, BDO USA, and worked in the
Department of Transportation, Office of Inspector General as an attestation auditor.
