Upaasna Laungani, CPA
Upaasna Laungani is a project manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) currently leading the Investment Companies, Investment Property Entities, and Consolidations projects and also working on the Accounting for Financial Instruments project.
Upaasna joined the FASB as an assistant project manager in November 2008. She has worked on various credit crisis related projects since joining the FASB, including fair value disclosures and the scope exception for embedded credit derivatives. She led outreach efforts for the financial instruments exposure draft issued in May 2010.
Prior to the joining the FASB, Upaasna was an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP in their New York City office. In this role, she focused on financial statement audits and agreed-upon procedures of investment companies, specifically mutual funds and hedge funds.
Upaasna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hunter College-City University of New York with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
