Teresa Thamer is a senior manager with a regional public accounting firm and specializes in small business consulting, focusing on management accounting and operational issues as well as auditing and tax. Most recently she assumed the role of Director of Training at the firm. She also teaches undergraduate and graduate accounting classes at Brenau University. Previously, Terrie worked in both public accounting and industry for more than twenty years. She was an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Embry-Riddle University in Central Florida teaching undergraduate and graduate financial and managerial accounting courses.
Teresa is a Past National President of American Woman's Society of CPAs and the Florida Association of Accounting Educators. She has also served as a member of the AICPA's Management Materials Task Force, past chairman of the Florida Institute of CPAs Members in Industry, Education and Government Committee, and currently serves as President of the Northeast Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs. She holds active CPA licenses in both Florida and Georgia. She publishes and is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences in the areas of management practices, leadership roles for women, small business issues and workforce training.
