Cybersecurity in your firm - an overview of potential risk and solutions (1 TB)
Presented by Ronda Caracappa & Darren Cimiluca

Ronda Caracappa is a Manager in PwC’s Cybersecurity & Privacy practice, based in Tampa, FL. Ronda has been an IT consultant for over 18 years and has experience in the Department of Defense intelligence field, financial services, and system architecture development. Some of her project experience includes policy and process design, requirements generations, use case development for security operations, Intel system test and validation, system architecture design, and intelligence sharing program development.

As part of these engagements, Ronda has been focused on ensuring process and procedure only add value to the client environment by identifying the gaps between what is documented against how work is done on the ground. Recommendations and passing on knowledge to the client are number one to help improve the client’s overall security posture.

Ronda is a DIYer and spends most of her time on home projects which NEVER seem to end. She likes photography but doesn’t do it as much as she’d like based on the amount of money she spent on the camera.

Darren Cimiluca is a Senior Associate with PwC’s Cybersecurity and Privacy practice.  He has over 10 years of Identity and Access Management and Project Management experience concentrating in areas of Regulatory Controls, Security Policy, Privileged Access Management, Information Security, Identity Lifecycle Management, Risk, and Operations.  Darren has most notably provided services in Regulation Systems Compliance and Integrity (Reg. SCI) for a covered financial entity in the United States that required adoption of standardized controls to manage Information Security.  Darren provided subject matter expertise on Reg. SCI and used industry standard controls from NIST and SANS to help his client become Reg. SCI compliant.   Using his CISSP training he specializes in implementation and assessment of Identity and Access Management policies and controls along with the technology tools needed to enable his clients to drive effective practices.

The Seven Sexiest Frauds Ever (3AA)
Presented by Kevin Cross, CPA

Kevin Cross, is always on the hunt for scandalous, over-the-top, ingenious, and sometimes just plain dumb frauds and is constantly keeping his current list of the “7 Sexiest Frauds!”

If the old adage "it takes one to know one" has an ounce of truth,  then the insights gained from our speaker will hold some valuable lessons for your practice.

Just as the FBI utilizes the knowledge of former criminals, this is your opportunity to glean from a convicted fraudster.

Thirty years ago he was the mastermind behind a large embezzlement scheme from the Broward County sheriffs department where he worked as an accountant for the notorious Cuban cop Sheriff Nick Navarro.

As chronicled in his book "Embezzlement, a True Crime Story", Kevin Cross learned the error of his ways and became a CPA, the only CPA in the state of Florida and Georgia with such a background. He started, lead and sold a successful accounting practice after 17 years.
Today Kevin is a licensed CPA, author and financial counselor who uses his wit, wisdom and unique insight to lecture on fraud, mentor, advise, and teach on the ethical use of money.

Afterwards, mix and mingle with your fellow local CPAs. Enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres at our joint chapter reception.
