Learn about the new 2017 and 2016 Accounting Standards Codification and Updates. Areas covered will be Revenue Recognition, Leases, and Financial Instruments, and other important GAAP changes. Accounting (ASUs), auditing (SASs), preparation and compilation and review standards (SSARS) from 2017 and 2016. Is it a compilation or a preparation engagement? The new SSARS 22 and SSARS 23 are explored. Further discussions on Quality Control, Peer Review, and Ethic’s revisions and changes. Practical solutions to complex issues will be offered. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues they need information on to.

Provide an update and review of new and selected revised professional A&A standards for 2017 and 2016.

  • FASB Update (includes Accounting Standards Codification and selected  new pronouncements from the Private Companies Council (PCC)
  • The FASB the IASB, and the IAASB positions and issues.
  • Audit Update on clarified auditing standards and new SASs including  areas of documentation and reporting for audits.
  • SSARS Update for  SSARS 21, 22, and 23 plus other information  for Preparation, Compilation, and Review to include  new engagement letters, new reports, and review  representation letters specified in SSARS. Further info on reporting, engagement letter changes, and documentation requirements.
  • Questions on “Is it a Preparation or a Compilation”?
  • Updates on Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA).
  • Updates on Peer Review and related regulatory problems 
  • Ethics Interpretation 1.295 with attest/nonattest applications
  • Documentation standards will be reviewed for changes required by Clarity Project for Audits, SSARS 21, 22, 23, Documentation, and other required information for the Revised  Ethics of the AICPA.
  • Any other matters deemed appropriate and timely
