ORLANDO – Cross, Fernandez & Riley, LLP (C/F/R) has released the results of their 5th Annual Central Florida Public Charities Survey.

“We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of our survey respondents,” said Melanie Fernandez, CPA, audit partner and Nonprofit Industry Group Leader. “We hope that the results will aid nonprofit professionals in furthering their organization’s mission. The survey is just one of a multitude of tools that can positively impact nonprofits of all sizes.” C/F/R received information from local nonprofit organizations during the first quarter of 2014.

The survey respondents included a diverse group of charities throughout Central Florida. This year, 40.4 percent of the respondents reported annual revenues of less than $1 million, while 28.8 percent reported annual revenues over $10 million.

To present the survey results in a manner that can be easily interpreted and utilized, C/F/R provided a description of the survey respondents, including organization size, and graphic representations of each question posted within the original survey. The data is broken down into five sections: operations, human resources, development/volunteerism, governance and strategic planning. Key findings from the survey results include:

  • 60.0 percent of the respondents reported an increase in revenue during their latest fiscal year, while 28.0 percent reported a decline.
