1040K Race Scholarships

The FICPA Educational Foundation will be accepting applications in January 2015 for 1040K Race scholarships to be awarded at the April 18, 2015, 1040K Race in Coconut Grove, Florida. To be eligible, a student must be a member of the Florida Institute of CPA, a permanent resident of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, or Monroe Counties, must also be a full-time, 4th or 5th year accounting major at one of the colleges or universities shown below and must meet all other criteria accompanying the application. More specific criteria will be available under Applications and Criteria.

In January 2015, students should contact the Accounting Scholarship Chairman at their school for an application and to receive further details. If you are not sure who to contact, please call or email Betsy Wilson at 850-224-2727, ext. 0, or wilsonb@ficpa.org. Applications will also be available online.

Students must submit a completed application along with a complete, official transcript to the Accounting Scholarship Chairman who, along with other accounting faculty, will review the application. If the application is selected, it will be forwarded to the FICPA Educational Foundation on behalf of the applicant. The absolute deadline for applications to be received by the Foundation is February 15, 2015, so contact your chairman in early January!


FICPA Educational Foundation Scholarships

The FICPA Educational Foundation will be accepting applications for Educational Foundation scholarships to be awarded for the fall 2015 semester in January 2015. To be eligible for these scholarships, a student must be a member of the Florida Institute of CPAs, a full-time or part-time (minimum of six (6) credit hours), 4th or 5th year accounting major at one of the colleges or universities listed below and must meet all other criteria accompanying the application. More specific criteria will be available under Applications and Criteria.

James Wilcox African-American 5th Year Scholarship

African- American 4th year accounting students who are currently holding a JWAAU Scholarship, are members of the Florida Institute of CPAs and will be enrolled as 5th Year/Masters students in the 2015-2016 academic year, beginning with the fall 2015 semester, are encouraged to check the criteria regarding eligibility and to apply if they are eligible.  Applications will be available online.  More specific criteria will be available under Applications and Criteria

Students must submit a completed application along with an up-to-date resume and official transcripts of all undergraduate/graduate work to the Accounting Scholarship Chairman at their school who, along with other accounting faculty, will review the application. If the application is selected, it will be forwarded to the FICPA Educational Foundation with a letter of recommendation on behalf of the applicant. The deadline for applications to be received by the Foundation is April 15, 2015.  This deadline is firm so contact your chairman in January 2015 for their deadlines!


Walter A. Friedly Memorial Scholarships

The Walter A. Friedly Memorial Scholarship Fund established through the Community Foundation of Broward may designate several $2,000 scholarships for the 2015 fall semester.  To be eligible, a student must be a member of the FICPA, a full-time or part-time (minimum of six (6) credit hours), 4th or 5th year accounting major at one of the universities listed below and be a resident of Broward County.  In addition, the student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid.
