Robert Davidson is a partner in the Assurance Services division and a member of Marcum's national Construction Industry Practice group. He came to Marcum in 2015 via the Firm's merger with DGLF CPAs & Business Advisors, a full-service accounting firm specializing in construction and real estate, with offices in Nashville, Tennessee and Orlando, Florida.
Robert Davidson co-founded Davidson, Golden, Lundy & Forehand in 1987, growing it into one of the most respected accounting firms serving the construction industry, with more than 300 construction clients to provide litigation support, claims cost documentation, continuity planning, business valuations, merger & acquisition services and strategic planning.
Throughout his career, Robert has built a reputation as an exceptional teacher and speaker at construction industry seminars. He recently completed three years of service as the chair of the AICPA National Construction Industry Conference. Robert has been a speaker and instructor for numerous national construction industry organizations, including the Associated General Contractors, the Construction Financial Management Association, the American Road Builders Association, the National Surety Bond Producers Association, and the Design Build Institute of America.
Robert co-authored an eight-hour construction accounting and tax seminar that he presents to numerous state societies and construction organizations. He has been the recipient of the Outstanding Discussion Leader Award for the Florida, Virginia, Wyoming and Tennessee CPA Societies. He also has received numerous highest-rated speaker awards at conferences in Ohio, Maryland, Florida, Texas, Colorado, California, Washington, Tennessee, Virginia, Wyoming and Illinois. Robert is on the editorial board of the Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation and has been published more than 25 times by various national construction industry magazines. He is also a founding member of the Hard Hat Construction Group, an association of CPA firms that specialize in the construction industry. He is active in several accounting organizations and also has served on committees and/or boards of various construction organizations, including the AGC, CFMA, TRBA, ABC and ARTBA. Robert was appointed by the Governor to four terms on the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. Robert currently serves as Treasurer for U.S. Congressman Jim Cooper.
Mr. Davidson was named one of Nashville's Finest CPAs by the Nashville Post and one of Nashville's Accounting Power Leaders by the Nashville Business Journal. He was appointed by two governors to four terms (12 years) on the Tennessee State.
