Carl Pacini is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg, where he teaches auditing and forensic accounting courses. Prior to USFSP, he taught for 10 years at Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft. Myers, Florida and for 2 ½ years at Penn State University. He has developed and taught numerous courses including Auditing I, Auditing II, Introduction to Fraud Investigation, Advanced Fraud Investigation, Tax Fraud, Forensic Accounting Legal Issues, Introduction to Forensic Accounting, and Fraud Profiling. He received his Ph.D. in accounting from Florida State University in 1997 and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1979. He is a Florida CPA, a Certified Financial Services Auditor, Certified in Financial Forensics (AICPA designation) and a member of the Florida Bar. He has made numerous CPE presentations to the Georgia Society of CPAs, FIorida Institute of CPAs, American Association of Attorney-CPAs, Institute of Internal Auditors and groups in Pennsylvania. He has served as Treasurer of the Financial and Investigative section of the AAA. He has published over 80 articles in various academic and practitioner journals including the Journal of Forensic Accounting, Journal of Accountancy, The CPA Journal, Internal Auditor, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Abacus, Advances in Accounting, Research in Accounting Regulation, Journal of Management Information Systems, the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and the American Business Law Journal.
