Jack Georger

Mr. Jack Georger is sole practitioner with an office in Bluffton, South Carolina. Most recently he was an audit director in the Bethesda, Maryland office of McGladrey & Pullen LLP. Prior to joining McGladrey & Pullen LLP, was a partner in a Los Angeles regional firm, an audit senior manager with KPMG and Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Prior to joining the BIG 4, Mr. Georger was in private practice in New York, where his firm provided auditing, accounting and tax services to various local governments, not-for organizations, small businesses and individuals for over twenty years .

During his career he audited publicly traded companies, both accelerated filers under AS-2 and non accelerated filers, major cities and counties in the United States, colleges, universities, and some of the largest not-for-profit organizations in the U.S. Mr. Georger has provided audit services to public and private companies that have received grants from the National Institutes of Health and are required to meet federal audit requirements.

Jack is the recipient of the AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting. He is a peer reviewer for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with emphasis on reviewing firms who performs audits under Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133. He is a frequent instructor for the AICPA on topics related to accounting and auditing.

In the last twelve months Jack has lectured on or provided training in government accounting and auditing for the AICPA, North Dakota Society of CPA's and the New York State Society of CPAs approximately a dozen sessions as well as additional training sessions (30) on accounting and auditing updates and the International Financial Accounting Standards.

Mr. Georger is a member of New York State Society of CPAs, California Society of CPAs, Government Finance Officers Association and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He serves on the Government Accounting Committee of both the New York and California societies as well as the Not For Profit Committee and Auditing Standards and Rules Committee of the New York Society. Jack has been a member of the GFOA Special Review Committee for the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting since 1990. He holds a license to practice in the states of Connecticut, New York, Virginia, California, South Carolina, Maryland , District of Columbia, Georgia and Wyoming He is also a Certified Internal Auditor issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
