Rebecca J. Whitener, MBA, CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE
Rebecca J. Whitener is an Advisor on Enterprise Risk Issues, working with Boards of Directors, Internal Audit Directors and Chief Risk Officers to address key enterprise risk issues. She was previously Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for EDS, now a Hewlett Packard Company, She was awarded the title of EDS Fellow in recognition of her innovative thought leadership and proven track record of creating world-class client solutions.
Before joining EDS, Whitener was a co-founder and chief operating officer of Fiderus Strategic Security and Privacy Services. Whitener came to Fiderus from IBM where she was a principal responsible for launching IBM’s worldwide privacy service offerings. She has also served as a director of Internal Audit.
She has developed and taught workshops and is a frequent presenter at leadership seminars and international conferences. She is a recipient of the Outstanding Discussion Leader Award from the North Carolina Association of CPAs and is currently an adjunct lecturer for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte teaching Accounting Information Systems.
Whitener holds an MBA degree, a BS degree in Accounting and a BA degree in Psychology. She belongs to the Institute of Internal Auditors, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of CPAs, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Information System Audit and Control Association, the Financial Executives International and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
