He has represented general partners, private equity funds, entrepreneurs, and private and public companies in a variety of strategic and financial transactions, as well as general corporate law and corporate governance matters.

With almost 30 years of experience in public accounting, Steven Klein has established a fine reputation for excellence and superior results for clients. His practice is focused in the areas of financial accounting and auditing in a variety of industries including real estate, leasing, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, technology, wholesale distribution, retail, professional services, and financial sector. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Klein has been an active participant in charitable causes, including the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, the Temple Beth Am Day School, the Leukemia Society of America, and the South Florida Builders’ Association, where he has served on boards and executive committees. He and his wife, Tammy, have two children.
Chair Update: Issues Impacting CPAs

FICPA’s 86th and incoming Chair Ken Strauss received his Bachelors Degree from Boston University in 1975 and his Masters in Tax from Florida International University in 1981. Ken has lectured extensively to professional groups and clients, and has published many articles in professional journals and commercial publications. The Tax Advisor voted Strauss’s article on “Fiscal Year Non-Conformity” as Best Article of the Year. The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, New York Times and the Miami Herald frequently quote Ken as an expert regarding various tax issues.
Ken is also a co-author of the Disaster Area Practice Guide, which was published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as an industry guideline. He has been frequently selected as one of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Outstanding Discussion Leaders, and is a former Regional Vice President for the Southern region. He has served on the FICPA Educational Foundation Board of Trustees since 1996. A member of the AICPA governing Council, Ken also is serving his 13th term on the FICPA Board of Governors and is a 17-year member of the FICPA Educational Foundation Board of Trustees. Supporting accounting students and watching them succeed has been – and continues to be, a long-time passion for Ken.
