Be an Influencer
To develop strong grassroots relationships with members of the Florida House of Representatives, Senate and Cabinet, the FICPA has created the Key Person Contact (KPC) Program. KPCs are CPAs who have personal relationships and are centers of influence with elected officials.
KPCs act as liaisons between the FICPA and state officials, creating a line of communication to relay technical and general information about legislative issues affecting the CPA profession. The 2014 Legislative Session is just around the corner, now is the time for you to let us know who you know.

Riggs to Serve on Triumph Gulf Coast Board of Directors
Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater recently chose Stephen Riggs IV of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC in Miramar Beach to serve on the Triumph Gulf Coast Board of Directors. Riggs is one of three people from Okaloosa County who will serve on the five-member board. The board will oversee spending of much of the oil-spill fines BP pays to the State of Florida.
“This is kind of a big deal,” Riggs said. “I am honored by the appointment and will represent our profession in a positive manner.”
“Stephen is an excellent addition to this important board,” said FICPA President/CEO Deborah Curry, CPA, CGMA. “We’re happy to have one of our members participating in the final phase of our state’s long road to recovery from this disaster.”
