How are my dues calculated?

Dues amounts are calculated based on the number of years you have been certified and the capacity in which you work. This ensures participation for CPAs at all career levels. There are reduced fees for students and retirees, and individuals who have been members for 40 consecutive years receive complimentary membership.

Why is my membership category different?

The FICPA Board of Governors recently made changes to the names and descriptions of some membership categories.  View each category and its description and dues amount.

What are my dues used for?

Member dues are carefully allocated to provide the highest quality benefits and services possible, including but not limited to:

  • Quality Continuing Professional Education
    • From in–house to self–study, online CPE, conferences, and accounting shows, quality CPE is available the way it serves you best.
    • Ethics courses are available in a variety of formats to fulfill your licensure requirements.
    • Specialized tracks such as tax, health care, construction, and more, help you customize knowledge to your practice needs.
    • Preferred member pricing is available for all CPE events.
  • Member–to–Member Networking
    • 27 Chapters across the state provide local in-person, member-to-member networking.
    • Complimentary membership in eight online communities keep members connected through Sections.
    • Committee and Section volunteer opportunities advance your knowledge while expanding your circle of professional contacts.
  • Legislative Advocacy
    • Active lobbying takes place before the Florida Legislature and state regulatory agencies.
    • Members have exclusive access to help with regulatory questions and issues.
    • Tracking nearly 400 bills during each legislative session protects the CPA designation.
  • Information Resources
    • Timely updates on accounting issues keep you ahead of the curve.
    • Florida CPA Today, your bi–monthly, four–color magazine, explains and dissects industry trends.
    • Up–to–date website and Section Listservs at www.ficpa.org connect you to the knowledge and resources you need now.
    • CIRA Florida Practice Aid, Legislator's Tax Guide, Compliance Audit Guide and others make sure you are prepared for today's business world.
    • Bi–weekly NewsFlash e–mails and legislative updates keep you informed.
  • Preferred Savings Programs

Why are my dues higher than last year?

Economic factors, costs related to the essential business functions of the FICPA such as printing, the hospitality industry, travel, and postage rates, as well as the addition of new benefits and services all contribute to cost fluctuations over time.

The modest dues increase experienced this year reflects those aspects of business and has been carefully calculated to minimize the impact each member feels.

How are contributions to FICPA CPA/PAC used?

The objective of the Florida CPA/PAC is to help protect the trust, confidence and esteem the CPA certificate holds in the public's eye.

Voluntary contributions to the Florida CPA/PAC are used to support candidates running for the Florida House, Florida Senate and Florida Cabinet who will be educated and able to make a difference in Tallahassee when bad public policy is proposed. Learn more about the FICPA CPA/PAC here.

How are contributions to FICPA Educational Foundation used?

The FICPA Educational Foundation works to ensure the integrity and success of the accounting profession in Florida. Founded in 1959 as the R. Warner Ring Educational Foundation, it has distributed more than $2 million to colleges and accounting students in Florida.

Foundation scholarships assist students in pursuing their degrees at any college or university in the state that have an accredited accounting program. Learn more about the FICPA Educational Foundation here.
