Mike Willis is XBRL International as the Steering Committee (ISC)Emeritus Chair; partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers National Office Tampa. Mike has previously served XBRL International as the Steering Committee and Board of Directors Chairman, Founding Chairman of XBRL, Chairman of the Jurisdictional Development working group and the Accountants Supply Chain Community and in a variety of other capacities. Mike has more than 27 years of accounting and auditing experience and works on process enhancements leveraging standards based architectures both for clients and within the firm. He speaks frequently, publishes papers and blogs on the topic of business reporting. Mike has been interviewed for or published articles in a range of business periodicals on the topic of a more efficient business reporting supply chain including the Harvard Business Review, Financial Times, Business Week, Wall Street & Technology, CFO Magazine, and CIO Magazine.

 

 

LOCAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Scott Meckley and Gary LoDuca are West Coast Chapter members who are volunteers on the FICPA Financial Literacy Committee. They are seeking potential volunteers who are interested in getting involved for "Ask a CPA" for Fox News in March 2011 and/or "Financial Literacy for Teens" programs around Tampa. Possible venues for programs could be in local high schools, church groups or other forums with teenage audiences. The FICPA and AICPA have designed Financial Literacy presentations, curriculum and content that can be tailored to the audience to achieve the purpose of the program in a designated time frame.
