Steven Ershowsky, JD, CFP

Steven graduated from Adelphi University with a BA degree in Political Studies prior to attending Pace University School of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. Steven was a practicing attorney in New York for more than 10 years and managing attorney of his firm. After relocating to Southwest Florida in 1993, he entered the financial services profession. Steven completed the Certified Financial Planning Degree through the College for Financial Planning and is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. The combined experience as a former practicing attorney and Certified Financial Planner™ professional provides Steven with an advanced level of understanding and excellence in financial planning. Steven ’s areas of concentration are in estate, retirement and financial planning. His role is that of overall coordinator for a complete financial plan, working with the client’s legal counsel and tax advisor for the client’s maximum benefit.

Topics: This seminar will cover life insurance taxation principles and helps participants understand the unique tax treatment of life insurance products and identify potential tax traps clients could face if uninformed. Steven will also discuss how nonqualified deferred compensation plans can be a valuable tool for tax-exempt organizations. He will explain the benefits and considerations of the Executive 457(b) Retirement Plan and the Executive 457(f) Retirement plans as well as basic plan design considerations, financing options and important tax considerations.
