RE: Key Person Contact Call to Action – Board of Accountancy Move

The 2008-09 House Jobs & Entrepreneurship Council proposed budget includes moving the Florida Board of Accountancy (BOA) from Gainesville to Tallahassee, and eliminates the Executive Director solely dedicated for the BOA. In addition, it eliminates two other positions and consolidates many of the current services currently being performed by BOA staff to be handled by other Department of Business and Professional Regulation employees.

We believe these proposed changes will make it even move difficult for licensees contacting the BOA office for assistance. For this reason, the FICPA and Florida Board of Accountancy are overwhelmingly opposed to this proposal.

CONTACT INFORMATION
Please contact your Representative (Key Contact) with your "Opposition" to this proposal before Noon on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 to let them know that the unique nature of regulation for the CPA profession warrants autonomy and budgetary control.
