Accounting Educators

The Florida Institute of CPAs is dedicated to supporting high-school and college educators of Florida who are in a key position to identify and develop the CPAs of tomorrow!

We have a number of resources designed for educators to promote accounting careers and education as well as the CPA designation in the classroom. We also offer valuable opportunities for students, like our Minority Summer Residency Program (MSRP) and the Accounting Development Program (ADP)…and opportunities like the Accounting Forum for Teachers (AFT) designed for business educators.

We appreciate the opportunity to support you! For more information, you may contact us at: accountingcareers@ficpa.org

Educator Resources

Below are some resources to support you when teaching Accounting.

The Accounting Education Center is for accounting educators who are looking for valuable resources to provide their students. From the basics of how to become a CPA to a career section that helps students transition from school to the profession, this is the section for those who mold the next generation.

Below are some resources to support you when teaching personal finance.

Speakers Directory

If you need a speaker for a presentation, consult the FICPA Speakers Directory.  The directory is updated daily, and includes names of FICPA members who have volunteered to speak to students. You can search for speakers by county, FICPA chapter, or by name.

Accounting for Success Program

Our Accounting for Success program supports educators with the assignment of a High School Speaker (HSS) to each of most of the high-schools in Florida. These are individuals who are FICPA members (Certified Public Accountants) who have volunteered to be available to speak about accounting careers, financial literacy or accounting concepts to your class, or at a job-fair or career-day event. See the HSS List to find out who is assigned to your school, then access their contact information from the FICPA Speakers Directory.

Student Programs

The FICPA has several summer programs for high school and college students who are interested in exploring the accounting profession. See each individual program for information, student nomination form and deadlines.
